Dear friends of fine Art, dear visitors to the art KARLSRUHE,
this year, Galerie Petra Kern will be appearing at art KARLSRUHE for the 12th time with eight artists of international standing. The new trade fair management Olga Blass and Christian Jarmuschek are breaking new grounds. A new focus on younger generations such as forgotten art, the overarching themes have been restructured and expanded, the hall layout has been redesigned. We are open and excited. Due to the changes, this year you will find us in the „dm-arena, Hall 4“. The focus of our gallery work, which has been maintained by the second generation in Heidelberg for 57 years, is on representational, figurative art by international artists. I am not only interested in promoting and developing my artists, but also in raising awareness of the necessity of art in society. We achieve this in many exhibitions, which often address current topics, are socially critical and also reach and touch people as a mirror of our time.
I live a „we” and togetherness out of conviction and this also applies to my art business. Only together, in cooperation with other cultural institutions or in collaboration with other disciplines such as music and film, we can reach many more people and inspire them for art.
We look forward to inspiring you again this year at art KARLSRUHE 2024. Our catalog gives you a foretaste - don`t hesitate to call. We are happy to send you one online.
See you in Karlsruhe or Heidelberg. Sincerely yours, Petra Kern & Team
Dear customers, friends and art lovers, artists and all supporters of Kunst Kompetenz Petra Kern,
We say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the trust you have placed in us and the many beautiful, inspiring moments. Personally, I would like to thank my artists for their tireless creativity, my team for their support and flexibility and all my supporters for their good cooperation. Let's rock together again next year. Thanks also to my network BNI for friendship, solutions, security, positivity and success.
Now it's time for a break, to end the old year, to mobilize strength for 2024 and then to start the new year with a swing. From December 27, 2023 to December 9, 2024 we will refuel. From January 10, 2024, we will be fulfilling all art wishes again and look forward to seeing you again at Galerie Petra Kern or at art KARLSRUHE in February 2024.
Because with trust in ourselves, courage to face life and change, love for the people we meet, honesty and understanding communication seasoned with a good touch of humor, we will achieve a lot together in 2024. We are looking forward to it!
Merry Christmas to all of you and a healthy start into the New Year 2024. Stay confident and have a good time.
Kind regards, your Petra Kern with Claudia Fadani and Sirin Gerlach
Dear customers, friends and loyal companions of Kunst Kompetenz Petra Kern,
We are looking forward to our last exhibition in 2023 in a Christmas atmosphere:
You are cordially invited to our opening of the exhibition: “Conrad Sevens, Alain Le Boucher & an Advent Calendar” on Thursday, November 30th, 2023 7:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m
Opening hours of the gallery: Wed-Fri 2 p.m.-7 p.m. and Sat 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Exhibition until January 20, 2024.
The romance of nature, symphonies of light and a new surprise every day until Christmas await you!
The painter Conrad Sevens reveals a reality that gives anyone who is touched by his art a poignant and almost spiritual premonition of the beauty of nature and life. His paintings are an expression of inner color nuances, captured in a language that expresses itself through a wonderful wealth of fine poetry.
Alain Le Boucher's light objects offer us a symbiosis of sculpture, science and poetry. And all three components intentionally remain visible: the skeleton of his sculptures, the welded metal pieces, the LED lights, microprocessors that command the light sequences are visible at all times until they disappear from the viewer's perception and the presence of the light and its movements fill its mental space. Rejoice!
In December you can marvel at a new work of art behind a new “door” of our Advents Calendar every day. Follow us on Instagram #kunstpetrakern.
With kind regards from the entire team at Galerie Petra Kern
Yours Petra Kern
HUXLEY&HEINZ from October 19th (vernissage) to November 18th, 2023 with the two internationally known artists Jonathan Huxley and Jürgen Heinz.
The painter Jonathan Huxley, *1965, lives and works in London, studied at the Fine Art Trent Polytechnic Nottingham from 1987 to 1989, graduating with a BA Honors degree He then attended the Royal Academy of Arts London and graduated with a diploma from the Royal Academy of Arts London in 1992. Jonathan has distinguished himself internationally through numerous exhibitions in London, Paris, Basel, Miami and Karlsruhe and can be found in public and private collections. In the pictorial works of Jonathan Huxley we repeatedly experience the examination of human events. The artist shows himself in various moods and dynamics, getting to the bottom of human behavior: “Who are we really under the protective layer of appearances?” (J. Huxley)
The metal sculptor Jürgen Heinz, *1969, lives and works in his studio in Lorsch in Germany. He is the winner of the jury prize of the Mörfelden Walldorf Sculpture Park 2015, Moving Column Prize winner of the International Art Competition "Bewegter Wind, Edition 10, Change?!", 2021, Moving Square. Jürgen Heinz is represented at international art fairs such as art KARLSRUHE, ART STRASBOURG, ART BRUSSELS, BASEL CONTEMPORARY; his works are partly temporary, partly permanently installed in public spaces and in museums and art spaces such as the sculpture hall of the Roland Phleps Foundation for Concrete Art and the Stangenberg Museum Merck. With a light impulse, a gentle touch from the viewer, Jürgen Heinz's steel sculptures start moving. The artist overcomes the apparent gap between cold, archaic steel and gentle movement in a virtuoso way: "The soul of the object is revealed through movement." (J. Heinz)
